Drawings by local artist Kathleen Jorgensen is being featured during the month of February at Palo Verde College in the Harry A. Faull Library. Jorgensen’s calls her work “Impressions of Nature in Ink” but includes color in some of the drawings. Jorgenson began creating her artwork 12 years ago in Portland, Ore. She moved to Blythe seven years ago with her husband, Timothy, who teaches history and coaches cross country and track at Palo Verde High School. In addition to being a wife, a mother to three young children, and continuing her art work, she will receive an associate degree from Palo Verde College this spring and will continue her education at CSU San Bernardino with a major in fine arts and a minor in psychology. The exhibit opens Feb. 2, and a reception for the artist is scheduled Feb. 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the library. Drawings will be offered for sale, and a portion of the proceeds will go to the Palo Verde College Foundation scholarship fund.
